CURRENT PROGRAMS

Mentorship Program

Knowledge about the Econ department’s ins and outs and professional development is invaluable. With experienced members interested in every application of economics, UES pairs new members to mentors based on their interests. The mentorship program provides valuable one-on-one insight into academic planning, internship advice, and career development.

UES offers technical workshops for members to learn Python, Stata, and LaTeX. These skills will be extremely valuable as an intern, research assistant, and in your own independent research.

Reading Cohorts

UES fosters discourse around academic papers and articles in economics through presentations about current economic issues chosen by new members and their mentors as well as through paper reading cohorts. Our paper reading cohorts are open to all UCLA students. More information about them can be found here.
